QReview!
Yes! It's True!! Dumbledore is Gay!!!
Harry Potter fans everywhere, prepare to be
shocked, stunned, stupefied, stultified, and
maybe even a bit surprised!
During a press
conference at Carnegie Hall, author J. K.
Rowling was asked whether Albus Dumbledore,
ebullient Headmaster of Hogwarts and stalwart
champion of the power of love, had ever found
love himself. To which Rowling replied, "My
truthful answer to you...I always thought of
Dumbledore as gay."
The statement was greeted with tumultuous
applause. (Well, of course!)
Rowling explained that Dumbledore had, when
he was young, fallen in love with Gellert
Grindelwald, who would eventually become one
of the wickedest dark wizards of all time.
This was why Dumbledore refused to confront
Grindelwald for so long--he was in love with
him. (Hey, we can all sympathize with an
attraction to bad boys [or girls,] right?)
Of course, this news is hardly revolutionary
to HP aficionados, who have undoubtedly been
suspicious of Dumbledore's love of plum
velvet suits, high-heeled boots, and licorice
wands (heehee) ever since book 1. However, to
have it confirmed by J. K. Rowling herself is
mindboggling. At last, queer fiction has a
shining star to rally around in Albus
Dumbledore (whose fabulous sense of taste is
only surpassed by the incredible depth of his
character development throughout the books).
Banzai, Albus Dumbledore! Banzai, Harry
Potter!! Banzai, Joanne Kathleen Rowling!!!
