 QReview!

Reflections of a Rock Lobster
Author: Aaron Fricke
Section: Biography
Genre: Gay history
Rating: 9.0
Plot Rundown: Aaron Fricke made national news by going to trial to fight for his right to take a male date to his high school prom. Here is his story, not only of the trial and the battle he fought to win it, but of the years leading up to that trial, when Aaron was still a terrified teenager attempting to hide his true nature from the world.
Review: Although a bit outdated, Fricke's trials and tribulations growing up gay in Cumberland, Rhode Island are still a familiar pain that anyone who grew up afraid to confess their sexuality can immediately identify with. The writing may not be the best, but it tells its tale wonderfully and makes this brief book a touching, emotional record to read.
