invites interested attendees to investigate
emerging production and consumption patterns
in the contemporary "adult" industry,
including locally retailed pornographic films
and magazines as well as nationally marketed
hardcore Internet pornography. Panelists
include representatives from local

Multipurpose Room. UCSC alumna (PhD,
Literature), 1983, bell hooks is a passionate
scholar and activist on gender, race,
teaching and contemporary culture. Ms. hooks'
presentation will focus on these issues and
the idea that fighting oppressions does not
require anger or conflict, but opening our
hearts and speaking the truth fearlessly.
