34th Annual LGBT Santa Cruz Pride Calls for Honorees and Grand Marshall Nominations The Diversity Center is seeking nominations to honor those who have made significant contributions to the Santa Cruz LGBTI community. Nominations are being accepted for Grand Marshals for the 2008 Pride Parade, and for proclamations honoring members of the community and allies. The nomination deadline has been extended until March 24, 2008. Nominations should be submitted to the Diversity Center at info@santacruzpride.org. Please place "Nominations" in the subject heading.

Vanessa Wilson is the new program coordinator for the STRANGE, the Santa Cruz County's queer youth group. A message from Vanessa:

"I am a recent UCSC graduate, excited and enthusiastic to start working through Youth Services to get more involved in working with GLBTIQQ youth in Santa Cruz County. I am looking forward to sharing ideas about support groups, social events and political networking with queer and questioning youth and allies. I hope to see everyone who is interested in participating at upcoming STRANGE and other queer events in the community. Please feel free to contact me with any thoughts or ideas."

The purpose of this summit is to provide a safe space where members of the QPOC community can engage in a cross-generational dialogue with each other. By sharing conversations and exchanging perspectives across generations, we hope this will generate new energy and inspire new passion in the QPOC communities.
