 QReview!
 Summon the Keeper

Author: Tanya Huff

Section: Fiction

Genre: Fantasy, Straight, Lesbian

Rating: 10

Plot Rundown: Claire Hanson is a Keeper—one of the people charged with maintaining the metaphysical balance of the world by manipulating possibilities. In a nutshell, she’s a good witch. But Claire is not just any Keeper—she just happens to be one of the most powerful Keepers in the world, which makes it doubly difficult for her to understand how she has now been hoodwinked into taking care of a hotel with an extremely hunky, yet totally innocent, handyman; the ghost of a seductive French sailor; a woman upstairs who really needs a good dusting, but is far too dangerous for anyone to get close enough to do so; and a hole to a schizophrenic Hell in the basement.

Review: Hold onto your hats, folks; this book is gonna throw you to the floor. Tanya Huff’s quirky twist on magic and reality opens up more jokespace than Mary Poppins’ carpet bag, and she stuffs every available space to the brim. Do not read this book in public—people will begin to stare when you’re laughing like a hyena every other paragraph.
