9am to 5pm. 3,900 feet tall, Diablo rises
very abruptly from its surroundings and it
towers over the nearly flat Bay Area and the
Central Valley. We’ll take a 10-mile circuit
hike around the summit that affords awesome
views that extend as far as the Sierras to
the east and Mt. Lassen to the north and 25

a new program that brings the Santa Cruz and
UCSC queer communities together, celebrating
and learning from our own scholars,
activists, and artists. This first forum will
introduce the Radical Faeries of Santa Cruz,
a vibrant group of that could be described as
playful revolutionaries, social servants,
gender queens, pagans, and queer hippies.

Hall. A GLSEN project
connecting high school and universities in an
effort to make the silence of the homophobia
in classrooms visible. UCSC is organizing
action addressing the multiple silences one
endures because of sexuality, gender, class
and ethnic/cultural identities. Guest
speaker Imani Henry will discuss how
coalition building and working with multiple
issue politics--immigration, anti war, people
of color, labor/unions, etc.--helps the
strategies of making GLBTI issues visible in
"nontraditional glbti spaces/ organizing".
