Nicole Hardin
Intern

My name is Nicole Hardin and I come from the deserts of Southern California. Living close to Palm Springs and having many GLBT friends and family has placed the community very close to me and compelled me to insist upon the betterment of GLBT rights and celebration.

I'm a freshmen here at UCSC and I hope to major in Cultural Anthropology. Culture is the most fascinating thing, it is so different in so many groups including the LGBT community, it definitely has a culture to experience!nicole

I will be hosting an Ally Workshop during winter quarter that will be open anyone and aims to help those seeking information on being an ally and those seeking to meet allies. The workshop includes a queer glossary and a hand out on what to do when a friend comes out. Supporting someone when they come out is very important and I'd be happy to provide the handout at the Cantú Queer Center.

I am also a journalism nerd and an editor of the Cantú Queer Center's radical queer magazine, The Big Q. I also love to do crafts and love to see people making things, if you want to make something and you don't know how, drop by the Cantú Queer Center and we'll see if we can learn together.
