Father James

James is an alumnus (Cowell College 1971, English and American Literature) who volunteers some time most Monday mornings to help with the Center's library. This is pretty familiar territory for him, since he has donated many of the books (especially men's fiction) that we have. From the early '70's to the early '80's, he was very active in lesbian and gay student groups in Davis and Sacramento, and in gay journalism, being the founding editor of two newspapers in Sacramento. He is also a priest, and would be happy to talk about being queer and Christian (especially Catholic) with anyone who wants to drop in while he's at the Center. Or leave a message here at the Cantú Queer Center, for him if you'd like to set up another time to talk.
