Diana Carpenter, MA, MFTI is a bilingual Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, specializing in Holistic Counseling and Buddhist Psychology. After going to Cabrillo College, living in Central America and attending the Universidad de Costa Rica, she received a BA from UC Santa Cruz with degrees in Modern Literature and Latin American and Latino Studies. Diana took some time off of school and worked as the manager of the local rape crisis center for five years. She then went to graduate school and received an MA in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University.
Diana currently works at Cabrillo College, counseling students and staff; at Family Services Agency of the Central Coast where she is a Rainbow Program graduate specializing in LGBTI Counseling; and maintains a private practice counseling internship downtown.
On October 24, 2008, Diana married her partner of 5 years and love of her life (a gorgeous wildland firefighter), before the passage of Prop 8. In May 2009, they had a beautiful outdoor ceremony celebrating their marriage with family and friends under the redwoods. FYI, Diana was introduced to her wife through their shared best friend whom Diana met in 1997 as a baby dyke on her first day at the Cabrillo College Queer Club! Diana enjoys being in love, laughing, traveling, backpacking, hiking, gardening, and working & advocating in the community.
